New iPod nano case with kickstand launched

A new case designed to both protect the iPod nano and make it easier for users to watch videos on the device has been launched.

Digital Lifestyle Outfitters (DLO) has unveiled the new VideoShell casing, which has been created specifically for use with the video-enabled third generation of the portable music player.

Made from transparent polycarbonate, the new accessory features a kickstand that slides out of its back, meaning iPod users can sit back and relax while enjoying videos on the move.

The company's product development director Marcia Germ said the new case "combines supreme functionality with solid protection from everyday nicks and scrapes".

It believes that the new iPod nano protection will retail for $19.99 (£10) in the US.

DLO, which creates a variety of iPod accessories, was founded in 2001 when it originally produced one of the world's first? sport cases for the music player.

The company also recently launched a new portable speaker system for use with Apple's iPhone.
