New iPod nano cases launched

Two new case designs for the iPod nano have been launched by accessories manufacturer Proporta.

Featuring an internal mirror, the aptly-titled Shine design features a flip-up cover to protect the device's face and a number of cut-outs for easy access to the music player's controls.

According to iLounge, the case, which retails for around $40 (£20), also includes a removable lanyard so users have a couple of options as to how they carry their nanos.

The website also reports that Proporta's other case, the Mini Mod Alu-Leather, features a thin layer of aluminium to further protect the iPod nano from general wear and tear.

Retailing for about $46 (£23), the case also features easy access to the device's controls so users can benefit from ease of use and sturdier protection in one package.

The release of new cases for the iPod nano has come after a rival accessories manufacturer released new protective covers for the iPod touch.

Tunewear's leather Prie Ambassador, which features an open-face design, retails for $59.95 (£30).
