New iPod alarm clock radio launched

Design and development company Boynq has launched a new alarm clock and speaker system compatible with the iPod.

The WakeUp iPod speaker and clock radio's innovative design features FM radio, three LCD screens and a USB port for connection to laptops and other devices, reports iLounge.

Available for $130 (£63), the speaker system also comes with a remote control, two three-inch speakers and line-in and line-out capability.

In addition, the makers have announced their intentions to create a similar model for use with Apple's iPhone, which will be available in the UK from November 9th.

Established in 2003 by Sebastian Peersmann, Boynq designs and manufactures a number of accessories for several electronic devices, including laptops and music players.

Boynq's unveiling of the WakeUp has come after AM Micro announced plans to ship MacAlly's TunePro device to the UK.

The combined iPod speaker, alarm clock and radio system, which won a Best of Show award from iLounge this year, allows users to wake up to their favourite tunes.
