Card 'Beaming' Comes to iPhone

The move toward a universal mobile business card took a huge leap today with the launch of beamME: the first free app that lets iPhone users "beam" their socially networked contact information to any device - not just other iPhones - using the vCard standard.

"Until now, beaming business cards between mobile phones has seemed like a lot of work and a little science fiction," said Gabe Zichermann, CEO of rmbrME. "beamME is the first card beaming service that works from the iPhone to any other device without restriction."

beamME users can create their personal or professional electronic business card in seconds without registration, and easily add their social network information if they choose. vCards are then sent with a single click to any kind of phone (smartphone not required) or computer. New contacts easily add this vCard to their PC or mobile address book in seconds - all without any software downloads, registration or subscriptions.
