Commenting on the move, Nicole Goldman, the vice president of marketing and publicity for the company, said: "We know our fans have been asking for these titles on iTunes and through our partnership with New Video, we hope to serve our loyal supporters and also introduce these beloved shows to new audiences."

A total of 24 Fraggle Rock episodes - all taken from the first season - will be made available by the Jim Henson Company, as well as 22 season one episodes of Farscape.

The shows are priced on Apple's iTunes at £1.99 each (£0.99).
