A text-to-speech software tool has been made compatible with iPods.

IVO software's Expressivo programme allows a user to create their own audiobooks, listen to the content of their emails or their favourite news feeds.

The new 1.3 version of the software, which can also be used on mp3 players, mobile phones and palmtops, can also help a user to improve their language skills through the use of language options including Polish.

Expressivo is also powered by IVO's IVONA software, which was voted to have the best voice quality at the international Blizzard Challenge in 2006.

IVO Software, which is a Polish-based company, was established as a limited company in 2004 and has developed a range of speech synthesisers for both professional and personal use.

The release of the iPod-compatible software has come after iSkysoft unveiled new software which allows Apple Mac users to download their favourite DVDs onto the touch, classic or nano models of the portable music player.
