Fans of computer game Guitar Hero will soon be able to download their favourite songs from the game through iTunes.
The games maker Activision has announced that the tracks featured on the original game and its three sequels are all to be made available through the online music store for iPod users.
Songs by artists including Aerosmith, Guns 'N' Roses and Rage Against the Machine will feature on the albums, while all songs on the compilations will be the original versions, unlike on the game.
Discussing the release of the music through Apple's music store for the iPod, Activision's head of publishing Dusty Welch said: "Guitar Hero fans have been clamouring for increased accessibility to their favourite songs from the set lists.
"Where there's music, there's Guitar Hero, and with iTunes, we are able to provide fans with a central location for downloading their favourite rock anthems."
The announcement of the availability of the compilations has come under a week before the Legends of Rock sequel to the game is launched in the US.
