Mint tins produced to disguise iPods

A new case has been developed for the iPod nano and shuffle, to reduce the risk of theft.

The iDisguise has been created in the style of an Altoids mints tin, disguising the product as "something else that is not worth stealing".

Available in Wintergreen or Peppermint Candy, the iDisguise contains a layer of protective soft foam to fit the iPod device.

The company said: "With theft of personal audio players and digital cameras on the rise, iDisguise set out to develop a simple yet effective anti-theft solution: disguise it as something else that is not worth stealing."

To prevent the tins from becoming recognisable to thieves, the group has stated that it will produce a limited number of each and continue to launch new designs.

Costing $11 (£5.80), the iDisguise can be purchased from the group's website.

iDisguise is an independent company, based in Princeton, New Jersey.
