It seems there is no stopping the iPod as Apple has this week revealed that it's handy little gadget and iTunes are at the forefront of the "digital revolution" in Japan.
According to Business Computer News, iPod and iPod accessories account for 60 per cent of the total market.
The iTunes Music Store was launched in the country over the summer and has a good level of growth in terms of available titles.
The market for accessories is also booming, over 1,000 different tailor-made for iPod accessories such as speakers and skins are available and a third of cars manufactured next year will have iPod compatibility.
Philip Schiller of Apple said: "We're delighted that Japanese music fans love the unrivalled combination of the world's most popular online music store and the world's best digital music players."
