Moped + iPod = Mopah

An American design student has created the Mopah – an iPod inspired moped.

Or to describe it more accurately, an iPod-powered scooter that operates by reading the unique serial number from your Apple MP3 player.

Constructed from foam, fibreglass, aluminium, steel and bamboo, the Mopah runs on a 500-watt motor and two 12-volt batteries.

"Mopah isn't about creating a beauty queen, it's more of a personal exploration in what it takes to make an idea real," said designer Michael Tseng.

He continues: "The essence of the scooter is that it's not just a motorized bike with speakers, instead it's a mobile boom-box.

"It's an outlet to freedom beyond mere transportation, a way of unlocking the limitless possibilities we have in life."
