Columnist thinks iPod is a bad Apple

A US journalist has taken a sensational swipe at Apple's key products: the iPod and iTunes.

Jim Turley, a columnist with the Electronic Engineering Times called the iPod a mere "hard disk with a play button" while berating the content management facilities on iTunes.

"What's the big deal? I've had MP3 players before and I think they're terrific, but the iPod, frankly, is inferior to all of them," he sniped

He describes the enormous popularity of the iPod as proof that " we have entered the age where high-tech electronics are sold based on the colour of the plastic".

Mr Turley then went on to call the "much vaunted" iTunes software "absolutely appalling", whilst listing his pet Apple hates.
