Global car giant Nissan announced yesterday that they will soon be marketing a car navigation system that can be linked with the iPod.
A report from Kyodo News reveals that the new navigation system will feature a specific iPod connector that delivers in-car control of iPods via its seven-inch touch screen display.
The hard disk drive-equipped system will be compatible with eleven existing Nissan models, including the Tiida compact car and the Serena minivan.
The system, which has no release date as yet, will also feature Nissan’s CARWINGS telematics service and CD/MD/DVD playback capability.
Earlier this week, Apple unveiled plans to work with Japanese car makers to integrate the iPod into new car lines.
