Motorola and Cingular in iTunes talks

It has been reported that Cingular Wireless is in talks with Motorola about the possibility of selling the forthcoming iTunes enabled phone.

“Motorola and Apple have been talking to Cingular about it using the iTunes phone,” an anonymous source told the Reuters news aganecy.

RBC Captial analyst Mark Sue also added to the speculation by saying in a recent research note that Apple and Cingular were working out final details on revenue sharing.

Apple and Motorola said last year they were planning to bring the popular iTunes service to mobile phones but Motorola is said to have delayed the release due to lack of interest from operators.

Cingular, America’s largest mobile network, and Apple representatives have both declined to comment, but a Motorola spokesperson said the company is planning to put the highly anticipated product out sometime in the next three moths.
